Dear students,
We invite you to join the team competition with problem solving. Students from various majors at MU-Sofia will participate in it. This will take place within the framework of the student scientific session.
Each student who participated in the competition will receive a certificate.
Description of a problem situation
Each team will receive a brief description of a problem situation - results of a survey conducted among a group of individuals regarding a specific health problem and the level of health literacy (health knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, motives, health skills and health behavior) of the individuals surveyed.
Team tasks
Within 15 minutes, a health education plan should be prepared, including:
- Define the main goal and tasks that will be achieved by conducting the
health and educational activities. - Indicate an appropriate approach to health education – individual, group or
public, justifying the choice. - Selection and indication of appropriate methods and forms of health education,
taking into account their advantages and disadvantages and the possibility of
realization of the goal and objectives.
Presentation of the plan and assessment
After the discussions are completed, one representative from each team will propose a health education plan within 10 minutes.
A committee of three people will evaluate the submitted health education plans by teams and will award the best plan.
Preparation for the competition
When preparing for the competition, you can use:

Guidelines for preparing summaries:
- One author cannot participate with more than two
abstracts in which he is the first author. - The abstract must be presented in Bulgarian and English, font: Times New Roman, size 12 pt, line spacing 1.5.
The summary should not exceed 200 words of main text. - Abstract structure: introduction, objective, materials and methods, results and conclusion.
- The title should be short and informative, start with a capital letter, and not use abbreviations.
- Authors' names should be presented with full spelling of first and last name and initials of surname. The submitting author's name is underlined using Bold. Authors' degrees and titles are not indicated.
- Under the authors' names, the place of work (department/clinic, faculty/medical institution, university) is indicated by a superscript number.
- The author's telephone number and email address for correspondence are provided.
- The summary should not contain graphs, figures, or references.

Poster requirements:
To ensure good appearance and legibility, it is important to comply with these requirements:
1. Format and dimensions:
- The poster must be vertical (height is greater than width).

2. Fonts and style:
- Font size is important for readability: title: at least 80 pt, subtitles: at least 32
pt, main text between 18 and 26 pt. - The font style should be clear and easy to read. The following fonts are preferred:
Arial, Helvetica, Times New Roman. Bold fonts are recommended for titles and subtitles.
3. Other requirements:
- Contents: The title, introduction, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions are
important parts of the poster. - Elements: It is recommended to use images, graphs, and diagrams to visualize your results and make the poster more attractive.
- Colors: Choose colors that are easy to recognize and not straining on the eyes.
- Layout: Arrange the information in a logical manner and use sufficient
white space to make the poster cleaner and well-structured.

To properly size the poster, follow the steps from the Design – Slide, Size – Widescreen (16:9) menu. - The slides should not exceed 3 pieces.
3. Poster orientation:
- The orientation of the poster must be portrait, following the steps from the Design -Slide menu, Size – Custom, Slide Size – Slides: Portrait
4. Fonts and style:
- The font size is important for readability: it is recommended that the minimum font size is 24 pt for the main text.
- Headings and subheadings should be 2-3 times larger than the main text to be easily visible from a distance.
- Headings: 48 pt and larger to stand out
- Subheadings: 36 pt and larger
- Main text – between 24 and 32 pt.

Guidelines for preparing full-text publications
Submitted scientific papers can be sent in full text for publication in a refereed and peer-reviewed electronic collection with ISBN to the following email: events@foz.mu-sofia.bg. Authors must comply with the requirements when preparing the materials, which are published on the conference website. Deadline for sending full-text materials: 31.08.2025
All authors are obliged to comply with the requirements when preparing reports:
- The total volume of the reports together with the abstracts should not exceed 10 standard pages, including tables, graphs and bibliography;
- Reports are prepared in Bulgarian using MS Word.
- Title of the report - in Bulgarian and English, in capital letters, font Times New Roman, Size - 14, Bold, centered, line spacing - Single;
- Authors' names should be written in Bulgarian and English with full spelling of first and last name and initial of surname, without titles, after one blank line under the title, Times New Roman font, Size - 12, Bold, centered. If the authors are from different institutions, the names should be superscripted after the authors' surname;
- Workplace (department/clinic, university/medical institution, for students - specialty) - after one blank line, Times New Roman font, Size - 12, unbold, centered;
- Summary and keywords - in English - up to 200 words text, Italic, Size - 12, Line spacing - Single. Structure of the abstract: aim, materials and methods, results and conclusion. The text is written without transposition and no abbreviations are used;
- Keywords - up to 5 keywords in English, Times New Roman font, Size - 12, separated by commas, listed alphabetically;
- Main text of the report - in Bulgarian: font Times New Roman, Size - 12, line spacing - Single. Blank margins in relation to the text should be: top - 2 cm, bottom - 2 cm, left - 2 cm, right - 2 cm, A4 sheet size. Pages are not numbered. Indent new line: Format, Paragraph, Special - First line, By - 1 cm.
- Report structure: introduction, objective, materials and methods, results and discussion, conclusion. The text is written without hyphenation. It is recommended not to use abbreviations;
- Figures, diagrams and tables: Figures, diagrams and tables should be placed in an appropriate location around the text to which they refer. Their width should not exceed the width of the text. Figures, diagrams and tables must be numbered in Arabic numerals, in Italic font, Size - 12, centred (the font of the text inside tables, diagrams or figures must be 10).
