The day of the open doors at MU-Sofia was held with great success and interest from the future candidate students. The university management and teachers welcomed hundreds of 11th and 10th grade students from the capital and the country, providing them with comprehensive information about the various specialties and study opportunities at the oldest medical university in Bulgaria.
Visitors had the opportunity to look at information stands of the faculties and the College of Medicine, attend presentations and get answers to their questions about the application, deadlines for submitting documents and prospects for realization after graduation.
In the Anatomical Auditorium of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Karolina Lubomirova, vice rector for academic activities, presented to about 1,000 students from the upper classes the educational opportunities offered by the oldest higher medical school in Bulgaria. She emphasizes the available base of student dormitories, as well as the prospects for scientific development, sports and cultural activities that the university offers.
Associate Professor Alexandrina Vodenicharova, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, Ph.D., introduced the attendees to the specialties studied at the faculty. A promotional film was used to illustrate the learning opportunities Yordanka Filaretova Medical College provides to its students.
A large number of potential future students have shown interest in the opportunities offered by the academic exchange program "Erasmus+". They also inquired about available internship programs that would allow them to gain hands-on experience in their chosen field. Last but not least, prospective students learned about the conditions and criteria they must meet in order to receive scholarships during their studies.
After the main presentations were over, potential future students were organized into smaller groups. Each of these groups was accompanied by members of the Student Council who acted as their guides. They took the prospective students around some of the Medical School's classrooms and classrooms, giving them an opportunity to get a clearer picture of the learning environment.
During these tours, the Student Council representatives made sure to comprehensively answer the many questions asked by the inquisitive young people.
