NEW SPECIALTY

"MEDICAL JOURNALISM"

In implementation of the Strategy for the Development of Higher Education in the Republic of Bulgaria 2021-2030, from the next academic year 2022/2023, the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD", Medical University - Sofia, together with the Faculty of Journalism and Mass Communications, Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski", has launched training in the Specialty "Medical Journalism".

Candidates should have acquired a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Journalism or Public Relations. This is an innovative educational program that offers specialized training and provides the opportunity to gain specific knowledge in the field of journalism and in the field of medicine and healthcare organization.

The training is interdisciplinary in nature, providing general and specialized training through a combination of theoretical and practical disciplines in journalistic text and editing, communication techniques and skills, journalistic ethics, medical terminology and introduction to public health, bioethics and public health, health legislation, health promotion and prevention of socially significant diseases, organization of the activities of news agencies, etc.

The master's program is aimed at individuals who will work as professional journalists with a career in the field of health and medical journalism.
