Prof. Dr. Tihomira Zlatanova Zlatanova, Ph.D

Prof. Tihomira Zlatanova, PhD, graduated in 2000 from the Faculty of Medicine of MU-Sofia with excellent results. In 2012, he defended his second master's degree in "Health Management" at the Faculty of Public Health at MU-Sofia. From 2001 to 2005, he worked successively as a resident doctor in the CSMP in Pernik, in the occupational medicine service in Sofia and in general practice. After winning a competition for a full-time doctorate at the Faculty of Public Health at the Sofia University in 2005, he obtained the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" in the scientific specialty "Social Medicine and Organization of Health Care and Pharmacy". From 2005 to the present, he has successively held the following positions: assistant, chief assistant, associate professor (2010) and professor (2014) in the Department of Health Economics at the Medical University of Sofia. Since 2013, he has been the head of the same department for two full terms. During the period 2016-2020, he was the deputy rector for educational activities of the Sofia University.

Prof. Dr. Tihomira Zlatanova has recognized specialties in: "Health Economics" (2004), "Social Medicine and Health Management" (2015) and "General Medicine" (2020). He is the chairman of the state examination committee for the specialty "Economics of Health Care".

He teaches undergraduate and graduate students in "Public Health and Health Management" and "Healthcare Management", undergraduate programs in "Physician Assistant", "Kinesitherapy", master's programs in "Strategic Management of Pharmaceutical Activities", "Medical Rehabilitation and balneology", "Occupational medicine and work capacity".

Research supervisor of 12 doctoral students (10 defended), 25 specialists in the "Health Economics" specialty, 49 successfully defended diplomas at the Faculty of Health Sciences, MU - Sofia and reviewer of over 70 diploma theses in master's programs in "Public Health and Health Management" and " Health Care Management'. He is the author of 5 monographs and over 170 publications.

Prof. Dr. Tihomira Zlatanova is the president of the National Association for Health Policy and Management. He is a member of: the editorial board of the journal "Health Policy and Management", Bulgarian Medical Union, "Balkan Medical Union", "Balkan Association of History and Philosophy of Medicine", the General Assembly of the Sofia University, the Academic Council of the Sofia University and Faculty Council of the Faculty of Health Sciences, MU-Sofia.
