The doctoral student in the scientific specialty "Disaster Medicine" is researching an important scientific and practically applicable problem with the aim of contributing to the optimization of medical provision in the event of crises of a military and non-military nature.

• It assimilates the achievements in the Republic of Bulgaria and foreign experience regarding medical insurance in disaster situations;
• It studies the planning, organization and management of medical forces and resources;
• Interaction with others involved in crisis management, etc.

Based on the acquired knowledge and skills, the doctoral student must be able to:

• To critically evaluate existing systems of medical

• To carry out a full assessment of various crisis situations;
• To develop alternative models for medical insurance for various BACs;
• To offer specific optimal solutions for medical insurance, tailored to the real situation;
• Be able to substantiate the project he proposes with arguments.
