On the occasion of the International Day of the Midwife, May 5, the Medical University in Plovdiv hosted the Second National Student Forum, jointly organized by the Alliance of Bulgarian Midwives and the Faculty of Public Health.
The event enjoyed great interest and was sold out. Within the framework of the forum, future midwives gave numerous presentations on midwifery care. They also took part in an essay contest on the topic "Teacher who inspires me". In a special collection, 27 essays written by Midwifery students from medical universities across the country were published.
Among the three nominated essays, the first prize was awarded to Nevyana Naneva, a third-year student at the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD" at the Medical University - Sofia. Freshmen Mirela Pencheva, Ana-Maria Garkova, Antonia Baeva, Katrin Antonova and Teodora Dimitrova took part in the competition.
On behalf of the teaching staff of the specialty "Midwifery" at the Department of Health Care of the Faculty of Public Health at MU-Sofia, we express our gratitude to our students.
They were able to see in us not just lecturers and teachers, but mentors and friends who will help them develop not only as excellent professionals, but also motivate and inspire them to work with dedication and love for their patients.
