Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD" together with Dr. Elena Mustakova organize an open lecture on the topic: "Integrated Public Health in the Conditions of the 21st Century" at September 18, 2025.

The lecture will cover the following questions:

• Why is a transdisciplinary approach necessary in the 21st century?
• What are the integral psychosocial skills needed for healthcare in the 21st century?
• What are integral health solutions?

Brief presentation of the lecturer:

Dr. Elena Mustakova is a Bulgarian-American psychologist, social scientist, and associate professor of psychology. Her work over the past 35 years in the United States has focused on the healing of individuals, families, and communities in our challenging historical and geopolitical context.

Dr. Mustakova's integrative clinical approach combines her Bulgarian roots with Western democratic values and Middle Eastern spiritual sensibilities; it promotes conscious resilience, deep dialogue, psycho-spiritual integration, and relationship and community health. She illuminates the systemic connections between individual health, culture, moral development, language, societal and planetary health.

Dr. Mustakova has been awarded as a professor of psychology in the United States and as a researcher in the development of critical consciousness. She is the senior editor of the comprehensive volume “Towards a Socially Responsible Psychology for the Global Era.” Her latest book, “World Unifying Healing: Integral Skills for Personal and Collective Transformation,” has been called “an anthem of collective health,” offering “powerful and wise medicine for our time.”

Dr. Mustakova is an honorary member of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences (Fellow of the World Academy of Art and Science) and a member of the Global Network of Evolutionary Leaders. She is the founder of the IntegraLight Transdisciplinary Institute for Consciousness, Society and Wellbeing, which collaborates with international research institutes and offers educational programs for people from all sectors on the development of consciousness towards public and social health.
