For another year, the ski competition "Rector's Cup" of Medical University-Sofia in Bansko was held. The organizer of the sports winter holiday (the winter camp and the competition) is the Department of Language Education and Sports with the significant support of the Student Council.

45 students from the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Public Health "prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, PhD", Medical College "Yordanka Filaretova" took part in this year's competition. The competition was held at the end of the MU-Sofia winter ski camp. On the day before the big event, all participants were invited to a technical conference where they were given detailed instructions on how to run the race and received their race numbers. The rector of MU-Sofia, Prof. Dr. Boycho Landzhov, who is the patron of the event, held a meeting with the students, where they discussed the expectations and impressions of the studies and student life at the University.

On February 23, 2024, on track No. 8 of Shiligarnika in Bansko, the competition was opened with a personal descent by the Rector, Prof. Dr. Boycho Landzhov, dm.

In the women's giant slalom, Aneta Hristeva, FOZ, climbed to the top of the ladder, who received the cup personally from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Bulanov, MD. In second place was Simona Tsekova, MF, who received her award from the Dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine Prof. Dr. Bozhidar Yordanov, MD. The third position was taken by Lubomira Tuliyska, FF, to whom the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Alexander Zlatkov, PhD, presented the cup.

For men, the "Rector's Cup" was won by Hristiyan Stoykov, FDM, who received his award from the Rector of MU-Sofia Prof. Dr. Boycho Lanzhov, MD. In second place was Nikolay Kostov, FDM, to whom the chairman of the General Assembly of MU-Sofia academician Vanyo Mitev presented the award. Filip Trendafilov, MF, took third place and was awarded by Deputy. Rector of MU-Sofia Prof. Dr. Karolina Lubomirova, MD.

For the first time this year, a new category was established - "Rising Star" for complete beginner skiers who have mastered skiing skills within the winter camp organized by the Department of Language Education and Sports. Prizes were awarded to Ioana Petrova, MF, and Stoycho Shopov from FF. The awards were presented by the Dean of the Faculty of Public Health "prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, Ph.D., Assoc. Alexandrina Vodenicharova, Ph.D. and the Chief Secretary of MU-Sofia Dr. Vidin Kirkov.
