Chief Asst. Prof. Svetlin Georgiev, PhD

Biography:

Chief Assistant Professor Svetlin Georgiev, PhD, has been a part of the Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University – Sofia for more than ten years. During this period, he defended his dissertation on the topic: "Research and Analysis of Selection and Capacity Building Practices in the Process of Health Technology Assessment." Additionally, he completed his specialization in Health Economics and obtained a Master's degree in Clinical Trials Management. His previous educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Public Health and Health Management (Medical University – Sofia), a Bachelor's degree in Business Logistics from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE), and a professional qualification in Corporate Management from the National School of Management.

He has participated as a mentor in a project initiated by the Ministry of Health — "Specific Health Challenges of the Roma Population." Furthermore, he has contributed to multiple projects aimed at improving the infrastructure of the Medical University – Sofia. He is also involved in numerous international projects funded by the European Union, including the Agility Project and PedXR, which focus on implementing cutting-edge teaching methods in the medical field. Additionally, he has served as an external expert in the national Health Technology Assessment (HTA) process, as well as an external consultant for the Sofia Municipality.

Publications and scientific interests:

Chief Assistant Professor Svetlin Georgiev, PhD, has contributed to more than 15 publications in national and international journals, some of which have an IF. His primary research focuses on health logistics, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), health management, and innovations.
