Education:

In 1978 he graduated from the Sofia Medical Institute.

Postgraduate qualification:

In 2000, he obtained an educational qualification degree - Bachelor of Health Care - Faculty of Public Health.

In 2008 - he graduated from the SDO - specialization "Operative and Bandaging Technique".

In 2009, he obtained a Master's degree in Healthcare Management from the Faculty of Public Health.

Professional career:

From 1978-1982 she worked as a nurse in the Abdominal Surgery Clinic at the Military Medical Academy.

From 1982-1988 she worked as an operating room nurse - in the Department of Emergency Medicine, Military Medical Academy.

From 1988-2007 - worked as a Senior Nurse at the Department of Emergency Medicine, Military Medical Academy.

From 2007 to 2015, she was the Chief Nurse of the Sofia Hospital at the Military Medical Academy.

From 01.2015 to 08.2015 she worked as an operating room nurse at the Ministry of Internal Affairs - Ministry of Interior.

Since 2012 – Honorary lecturer in practical training for nursing students at the Faculty of Public Health.

Since September 2015, he has been working as a lecturer at the Medical University - Sofia, Faculty of Public Health, Department of Health Care.

Since 2018, he has held the academic position of "Assistant."

Since 2020, he has held the academic position of "Chief Assistant".

In 2018, he successfully defended his dissertation for the educational and scientific degree of "Doctor" on the topic of Healthcare Management in Patients with Abdominal Trauma.

In 2019, he published a monograph on the topic "Health Care for Patients with Abdominal Trauma."

Membership in professional organizations:

From 2008 – 2015, Chairman of the Council of Head Nurses in Bulgaria

Since 2000 – Member of the Bulgarian Association of Public Health.

He is a member of the "Scientific Society for Medical Education" and the "Bulgarian Scientific Society for Public Health".

Senior Assistant Professor M. Ilieva has participated in 30 conferences and scientific forums and has 35 scientific articles in Bulgarian and international publications.

Senior Assistant Professor M. Ilieva has participated in 3 scientific projects at MU-Sofia SNM-"GRANT".

General Assistant M. Ilieva participated in the ERASMUS program in the Czech Republic

Participation in humanitarian missions:

2006 and 2007 – took part in a humanitarian mission in the city of Herat (Afghanistan) – in a Spanish military field hospital.

1999 – humanitarian mission on a government assignment during the major earthquake in the city of Ada Bazari – Turkey.

Awards:

– Ladies' Cross, 2nd class, for faithful service under the flags

– Medal for participation in an international ISAF mission.
