Assoc. Prof. Todor Dimitrov, PhD

Biography:

Assoc. Prof. Todor Krasimirov Dimitrov, PhD is the head of "Physiotherapy" department of at the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tzekomir Vodenitcharov, DSc" - Medical University Sofia . He graduated with a bachelor degree in "Rehabilitation" from the Medical College-Sofia"Yordanka Filaretova," a bachelor's degree in "Health Care Management," and a master's degree in "Public Health and Health Management" from the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tzekomir Vodenitcharov, DSc." He also has a master's degree in "Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation" from the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" - Sofia. 

His academic career began as an assistant in the of "Physiotherapy" department at the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tzekomir Vodenitcharov, DSc." He earned his "PhD" degree with a dissertation on the topic "Effectiveness of Rehabilitation on the Quality of Life of Patients with Multiple Sclerosis." He won a competition for the position of senior assistant and currently holds the academic title of "Associate Professor" in the "Physiotherapy" Department. He has a specialization in "Health Economics."

He has participated in several "GRANT" projects at Medical University-Sofia, including: "Study on the Population's Need for Home-Based Medical Patronage Services"; "Survey on Health Care Professionals' Opinions Regarding the Need for Home-Based Medical Patronage Services"; and "Development of New Digital Materials for Bioethics Education in Bulgarian Kindergartens and Schools." He also participated in the first and second phases of the research project from the competition "Building Infrastructure for Research at Sofia Medical University." He is also involved in the project "National Program for Young Scientists and Postdoctoral Researchers."

Publications and scientific interests:

Author of two monographs and one co-authored, he is the author and co-author of over 60 publications and over 100 citations.

He is a member of the General Assembly and the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tzekomir Vodenitcharov, DSc." He is a member of the National Association for Health Policy and Management and the International Forum of Bioethics Educators at the UNESCO Department of Bioethics.
