Assoc. Prof. Stefan Yanev, PhD

Biography:

University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev". In 2007, he defended his doctoral dissertation in Kinesitherapy on the topic "Hydrotherapy and specialized physiotherapy means in children with cerebral palsy". He also completed a master's program in "Public Health and Health Management" at the Medical University-Sofia. From 2009 to 2015, he held the position of Deputy Dean for Scientific and Personnel Development at the University of Ruse. 

From 2015 to 2023, he headed the Department of Kinesitherapy at the Faculty of Public Health, MU-Sofia. He participated in 15 national projects, three of which he was the head researcher. He has held the academic position of "Associate Professor" at the University of Ruse "Angel Kanchev" from 2012. to 2015, University "Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov" - Burgas from 2012 to 2018 and Medical University - Sofia from 2015 to the present day. Practices at MHAT - Serdika, MC - "Rego" and MC "Balance Clinic". 

Underwent postgraduate training in Vojta Therapy, Pediatric Neurology, PNF, Dry Needling. 

Supervisor of 5 defended PhD students. 

"Annual Award for Overall Scientific Creativity" of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, Ruse Branch in 2010.

"Honorary Badge" of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, Ruse Branch in 2013.

Award for High Scientific Achievements from the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, Ruse Branch in 2017.

Led lectures under the ERASMUS Program in Turkey, Belgium and Poland.

Publications and scientific interests:

The total number of publications is 62, of which 5 are textbooks and one monograph. Cited in over 50 scientific works. He is participating in the editorial board of the journal "Physiotherapy" and "Medicine and Ecology". He has scientific interests in the field of neurorehabilitation, posturology, pathokinesiology and pediatrics.

Member of the Association of Physiotherapists in Bulgaria, from 2011 to present.

Member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria, Ruse branch from 2008 to present.
