Lecturer Nadya Manova, PhD

Biography

Graduated from PMU "Yordanka Filaretova" in Sofia with a specialty in rehabilitation. Obtained her educational degrees of bachelor, master, and PhD in kinesitherapy from the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski."

Has 35 years of professional experience as a rehabilitator and kinesitherapist at the University Hospital "St. Anna", working across all clinics with the longest tenure in the Clinic of Neurology.

Teaching career: began in 1996 as an adjunct instructor for kinesitherapy students at the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski", teaching later rehabilitators at the Medical College "Yordanka Filaretova" in Sofia.

Working since 2015 as an assistant and lecturer in the Department of Kinesitherapy at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University in Sofia.

Completed specialized continuing education courses such as "PNF – basic (A and B) and advanced level". "Motor learning in Bobath's" (parts I-III), "Mulligan techniques", "Application of Fit-ball in Kinesitherapy", "Manual Lymphatic Drainage according to the Völdi method", "Physiotherapist in Segmental Reflex-Therapy"-S.E.R.K., Belgium, and the McKenzie Institute International - "Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy of the Lumbar, Cervical, and Thoracic Spine (parts A and B)", among others.

Publications and research interests

Participated in national and international congresses and conferences and in projects affiliated with the Medical University of Sofia, as well as published papers in national and international journals, including those with an impact factor.

Research interests: in the fields of neurology, internal diseases, and geriatrics

Membership in Organizations: member of the Association of Physiotherapists in Bulgaria (APB)., elected member of its Central Management Board for more than 10 years.
