Assoc. Prof. Inna Ivanova, PhD

Biography

Inna Ivanova was born in Teteven. In 2006 she graduated from the Natural and Mathematical High School “Vasil Drumev”, Veliko Tarnovo – profile “Biology and Chemistry”. In 2010 she graduated with bachelor’s degree and in 2012 with master’s degree in Kinesitherapy from National Sports Academy “Vasil Levski”. In 2016 she acquires PhD degree, again in NSA "Vasil Levski". She holds a master’s degree in “Public Health and Health Management” from the Faculty of Public Health “Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD” at the Medical University of Sofia. She has attended a number of professional courses in the field of kinesitherapy: Manual therapy, Soft Tissue Mobilizations, Modern Orthopedic Medicine – Cyriax (modules A and B), Classical taping, Kinesiology taping, Manual Lymphatic drainage, Physical treatment of lymphedema, Mulligan concept, IPNFA Basic Course, Auriculotherapy, various acupuncture treatment systems, Su-Jock, etc.

Inna Ivanova was a lecturer at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" at the Faculty of Medicine, for the specialists in "Medical Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy"; as well as at the Center for Postgraduate Qualification of the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski". In 2016, she held the position of "Assistant" at the Department of Kinesitherapy at the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov" - MU-Sofia, and in 2019 she won a competition for "Chief Assistant." 

Currently, she holds the academic position of "Associate Professor" at the Department "Kinesitherapy" at the Medical University - Sofia. She teaches in the Bachelor's degree program "Kinesitherapy" and in the master's program "Medical rehabilitation and balneology." She participated in the first and second stages of a research project from the competition "Building infrastructure for research at MU-Sofia" as well as in the project "National Program for Young Scientists and Postdocs."

Publications and research interests

She has participated as a lecturer at national and international conferences and congresses. She has published as a co-author and as an independent author related to kinesitherapy in patients with multiple sclerosis, orthopedic diseases and conditions, pregnancy, addictions, etc. She is author of one monograph, co-author of one textbook and two manuals.

Membership in organizations

She is a member of the Association of Physiotherapists in Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health.
