Chief Asst. Prof. Elvira Nikovska, PhD

Biography:

Ch. assistant Elvira Viktorova Nikovska, d hAssoc. Prof. Elvira Viktorova Nikovska completed her secondary education at 32nd Secondary School "Sv. Kliment Ohridski" in Sofia in 2007. She graduated from the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski" with a Bachelor's degree in Kinesitherapy in 2014 and a Master's degree in 2015. She also completed her Master's degree in Public Health and Health Management at the Medical University of Sofia in 2021.

In 2022, she defended her dissertation on the topic "Tracking Changes in Postural Control During Kinesitherapy for Stroke Patients" to obtain a PhD at the National Sports Academy "Vasil Levski." She has worked in her field at the SBR Bankya - Yasen, University First multi-profile hospital for active treatment - Sofia St. John The Baptist and the Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Orthopedics and Sports Medicine – Prof. Dr. Dimitar Shoylev. She is also a certified Mulligan Manual Therapist and Bobath Therapist. It is also certified Mulligan Manual Therapist (Certified Mulligan Practitioner) and Bobat Therapist.

Academic positions held: In 2016, after a competition, she was appointed as an Assistant at the Department of Kinesitherapy at the Faculty of Public Health, Sofia. Since 2022, following another competition, she has held the position of Associate Professor. 

She has participated in the following projects: "Building a Laboratory for Posture and Locomotion Research at the Department of Kinesitherapy at the Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University of Sofia (Stage I)." Funding organization: Medical University-Sofia, Competition for "Building Infrastructure for Scientific Research at the Medical University of Sofia 2017," Contract D-231/15.12.2017, Council of Medical Science, Bulgaria; "Completion of the Laboratory for Posture and Locomotion Research at the Department of Kinesitherapy at the Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University of Sofia (Stage II)." Publications and scientific interests: 

She is the author of one book, two manuals, and a co-author of a textbook. She is also the author and co-author of numerous publications.

She is a member of the Bulgarian Physiotherapists Association and the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health.
