Asst. Prof. Iliana Ivanova Sokolova, PhD

Biography:

Iliana Sokolova completed her secondary education at 22 Secondary School "G. S. Rakovski" - Sofia. She has a degree of "Specialist" in the specialty "Midwife" at the Medical College at the Medical University - Sofia.

She has a Bachelor's degree in the specialty "Social Activities" and a professional qualification "Social Worker" at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Veliko Tarnovo. She has a Master's degree in the specialty "Health Care Management" at the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD" at the Medical University - Sofia, as well as a degree of "Doctor" in the doctoral program "Health Care in the Health Care System".

She works as a midwife in the Maternity Ward of PSAGBAL "St. Sofia” – Sofia at the OAIL of the Maternity Hospital “Maichin Dom” – Sofia, senior midwife of the RO of the Maternity Hospital “Maichin Dom” – Sofia, lecturer at the Department of “Health Care” of the Faculty of Public Health “Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD” at the Medical University – Sofia, assistant professor in the same department. She has a professional qualification for "Operation Midwife", anesthesiology midwife, as well as a specialty in "Public Health".

Publications and scientific interests:

Iliana Sokolova participates in the teaching activities of students with the "Bachelor's" qualification in the specialties "Midwifery" and "Nurse". Iliana Sokolova's annual teaching load is 360 hours. Her scientific interests are in the field of obstetrics and intensive care. She participates in over 10 research projects, in the national program "Young Scientists and Postdoctoral Fellows", as well as in training under the "Erasmus+" program. She has 20 publications in scientific journals. She is fluent in English and Russian.
