Biography:
Marina Samuneva-Zhelyabova, MD, PhD has graduated Medicine in Medical University - Sofia, completed a second master's degree in Occupational Medicine and Work Ability and a third one in Public Health and Health Management at the Faculty of Public Health "prof. Dr. Tz. Vodenicharov, MD, DSc" of MU - Sofia. Her doctoral dissertation is on the topic "Assessment and management of specific health risks for workers in emergency medical care centers in Bulgaria". Also, acquired the medical specialty "Occupational Medicine".
In 2015 started an academic career as an assistant in the department of "Occupational Medicine" in 2015, and from 2022 holds the academic position of "associate professor".
She is an active member of various research teams in the development of Bulgarian and international research projects such as: "Investigation of the subjective perception of the quality of working life of health care workers", "Analysis and assessment of occupational and psychosocial stress and cardiovascular risk in workers in significant and risky spheres of social and political life", "European partnerships for prevention and social innovation for doctors through training and science".
HLS 19 Project: Health Literacy Population Survey 2019-21- a project of the Action Network on Measuring Population and Organizational health Literacy (M-POHL) within EHII of WHO - Europe, "European Public Health Activity for Promotion, Training and Increasing Health Capacity (EUPHATIC)", part of the "This is Public Health" program of the Association of Schools of Public Health in Europe (ASPHER). Also, took part in the National Program "Young scientists and postdoctoral fellows".
Publications and scientific interests:
He has over 80 publications in Bulgarian and international scientific journals, including in study guides on topics related to working conditions in the workplace, healthcare workers, administrative workers, psychosocial risks, occupational stress, aggression and violence in the workplace, young and elderly workers, COVID 19, analysis of the health status of workers in various sectors, etc. He has over 30 citations in Bulgarian and foreign scientific journals.
Author of over 80 publications in Bulgarian and international scientific publications, including in study guides on topics related to working conditions in the workplace, health workers, working in administration, psychosocial risks, occupational stress, aggression and violence in the workplace, young and elderly workers, COVID 19, analysis of the health status of workers in various sectors, etc. Acquires over 30 citations in Bulgarian and foreign scientific publications. Author of a monograph on the topic: "Guide to reducing health risks among workers at high psychosocial risk", co-author of a textbook: "Hygiene. Medical ecology. Occupational medicine". Takes part in numerous national and international seminars and scientific forums.
