Ch. Vidin Kirkov, PhD, assistant professor

Biography

Dr. Vidin Kirkov, MD was born on September 15, 1995. 

At the beginning of 2021, he obtained the Master of Medicine degree in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of MU-Sofia, with excellent results. 

In May 2023, he obtained the ONS "Doctor" in the scientific specialty "Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy", and at the end of the same year he also obtained a second OX "Master" in the specialty "Public Health and Health Management" at the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD", MU-Sofia.

In 2019 – a specialized qualification course was held at the First Moscow State Medical University "I. M. Sechenov", Moscow, Russia.

Professional development:

• from April 2021 – Head of the Center for Bulgarian and International Students at MU-Sofia 
• May 2021. after a competition and selection, he was appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management of the National Institute of Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD", 
• In 2023, after a competition and selection, he was promoted to chief assistant professor in the same department. From the end of 2024, he became part of the newly formed Department of Social and Preventive Medicine and MBS.
• from January 2024 to the present, he holds the position of Secretary General of MU-Sofia.

Educational and scientific activities:

• a full course of practical classes and seminars in the disciplines "Social Medicine" and "Medical Ethics" for students from specialty "Medicine" BEO and AEO, as well as in several disciplines of students from the specialties "UZG" and "OZZM". 
• Author and co-author of over 50 publications in specialized scientific journals in Bulgaria and abroad, of which over 20 with IF. 
• He participates in several scientific projects at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of MU-Sofia, as well as in the international projects INGENIUM and BRIDGE, as well as in the national project NUKBPI.

Memberships:

• • from 2016 to the present, member of the Academic Council of MU-Sofia; 
  • from 2023 to the present, member of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD";
  • Member of the editorial board of the journal "Acta Medica Bulgarica"

• Member of the editorial board of the journal "Praemedicus-since 1925"

Distinctions:

• "SIGNUM LAUDIS - 1st degree" for special merits and contribution to the development of MU-Sofia, 2021.
• The Faculty of Medicine Award at MU-Sofia in the name of "PROF. DR. ASEN ZLATAROV" - for special achievements in medical science, 2020.
