Assoc. Ph.D. Peshka Pesheva, MD

Biography

He graduated in medicine from the Medical University of Sofia in 1993. From 1995 to 1997 he worked as an expert in the Projects Department of the Ministry of Health. From 1998 to 2002 he was a local consultant for the Primary Health Care component of the Health Sector Restructuring Project, jointly financed by the World Bank and the Ministry of Health. Since 2003 he has been successively an assistant, senior assistant, chief assistant and associate professor in the Department of Social Medicine of the Faculty of Public Health, Medical University of Sofia. 

In 2007, he obtained a specialty in Social Medicine and Health Management. In 2013, he defended his dissertation for the award of the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" in the scientific specialty "Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy" on the topic "Attitude of General Practitioners in Sofia towards Evidence-Based Medicine". DProf. Pesheva has participated in four scientific projects.

Publications and scientific interests:

Assoc. Prof. Pesheva is the author of over 50 scientific publications, has over 30 citations in the country and abroad. His main scientific works are in the fields of evidence-based medicine, population health, health systems, mental health and stress. He is a co-author of four textbooks on social medicine.
