Assoc. Prof. Elia Georgieva, MD, PhD

Biography

Elia Krasimirova Georgieva is born in Sofia. She has graduated Medical University-Sofia with total grade Excellent 5. 63 and average grade from the State exams Excellent 6.00.

After graduating medicine Dr. Elia Georgieva works several years in the area of Mental health. Since 2004 she works in the department of Social medicine as assistant and senior assistant, and since 2012 is chief assistant at the department. In 2007 dr. Elia Georgieva received specialty in Social medicine and health management. 

 Since 2025 she is an associate professor at the department of Social and preventive medicine and medicine of the disaster situations” at the Faculty of Public health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, DSc", Medical University – Sofia.

In 2010 she defends a dissertation on the topic,,Research of elements of quality of life of patients with cardiovascular diseases”.

Dr. Elia Georgieva speaks English, Italian and Russian languages.

Publications and scientific interests

The scientific interests of Dr. Elia Georgieva are in the area of Social medicine and mental health. She is an author of two independent monographs and 70 publications in scientific journals. She has 78 citations in Bulgarian publications and 26 citations in journals referred in world renowned scientific base data.
