Biography:
Dr. Yosif Yosifov was born on March 10, 1987. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Management from the Otto von Görricke University in Magdeburg, Germany (2008) and a Master's degree in Business Administration from the International Graduate Business School (2010).
In January 2014, he defended his dissertation on the topic: "Socio-economic factors influencing child mortality in the Balkan countries" at the Medical University of Sofia and received a doctorate in social medicine.
His professional career began at the Pension Insurance Company "Badeshte" in 2009, where he was engaged in analysis of the pension insurance market. In August 2010, he was appointed as an expert at the Ministry of Finance, where he again engaged in analysis of the pension, health and social spheres. In 2014, he became the head of a department at the Ministry of Finance, where he worked on analyses of tax policy in the country.
From November 2016 to August 2023, he worked as an actuary at the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC), where he consistently dealt with analyses of the activity of the insurance market (sufficiency of technical reserves of (re)insurance companies and analysis of the sufficiency of insurance premiums) and the insurance market, including analysis of the sufficiency of specialized reserves of pension insurance companies.
Since November 2019, he has been a chief assistant professor at the Medical University of Sofia, where he teaches and leads exercises in drug policy, management of information and documentation activities, marketing, and organization of healthcare systems.
Since August 15, 2023, he has been an advisor at the Bulgarian National Bank in the office of the Deputy Governor, heading the Banking Department, where he is responsible for the coordination of the directorates in the management and the processes of the accession of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Eurozone.
Publications and scientific interests:
He is the author of over 40 publications in the fields of social medicine, industrial relations, economics and security, including the collective monograph "About corporate social responsibility in the healthcare sector" (2019) and the monograph "Motivational remuneration of medical personnel" (2022).
He speaks German, Spanish, English, Russian and Romanian.
