Assoc. Prof. Valchin Stoyanov Garov, MD, PhD

Biography:

Assoc. Prof. Valchin Garov, MD graduated from the Medical University of Sofia in 1998, and in 2006 he obtained a specialty in Surgery. Since 2000 he has a Master degree in Public Health and Health Management. In 2017 he defended his dissertation on the topic "Integrative Management Approach in the Management of a Hospital on the Model of Medical Complex "Doverie" AD". In 2019 he won a competition to occupy the position of "Chief Assistant" at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University of Sofia. Since September 2021 he has held the academic position of "Associate Professor" at the Department of "Health Policy and Management".

His professional path as a surgeon began in 1998 in the 2nd Surgery Department of the 5th City Hospital. From 2003 to 2007 worked at the Clinic of Pediatric Surgery of the National Medical University Hospital "N. I. Pirogov" EAD as a pediatric surgeon, and from 2007 to 2012 as a surgeon at the Tokuda Hospital.

Since 2016, he has been the Director of the Hospital Care Facility of the Doverie Hospital AD.

Between 2005 and 2007, he was a member of the Board of Directors of the Health Insurance Institute AD.

Publications and scientific interests:
