Prof. Tsvetelina Milcheva Petrova-Gotova, dm

Biography:

Born in Sofia. In 2002, she graduated from the University of National and World Economy, Master of Economics. In 2006, she obtained a specialty in “Healthcare Economics” at the Medical University – Sofia, in 2010 – Master of Public Health and Health Management at the same university. In 2009, she successfully defended her dissertation and obtained the ONS “Doctor” in the scientific specialty “Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy”. Since 2022, she has been enrolled in the specialty “Medical Informatics and Health Management”.

From 2001 to 2008, she worked as an expert at the National Statistical Institute, organizing and coordinating the implementation of various events with international participation in the country and abroad, as well as cooperation activities with the EU statistical office (Eurostat). In 2002, after winning a competition, she started working as an assistant at the Department of Health Economics at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University of Sofia. Since 2006, she has been a senior assistant at the Department, and since 2011 she has been promoted to chief assistant. In April 2014, after a successful competition, she held the academic position of "associate professor", and since February 2021 she has been a professor at the same Department.

Publications and scientific interests:

The scientific interests of Prof. Tsvetelina Petrova-Gotova are in the following areas: health economics; public health; socio-economic problems in health; health management; financial management in health, investments in health. 

He is the author of over 130 scientific publications in Bulgarian and international journals. He is a co-author of 6 textbooks – “Guide to Health Economics”, “Guide to Financial Management in Health”, “Methodological Approaches for Economic Evaluation of Health Programs”, “Introduction to Economic Knowledge” (2 editions) and “Health Economics”. He has over 300 positive citations. He is a participant in 5 research projects at the Medical University – Sofia.

Membership in organizations:

Prof. Tsvetelina Petrova-Gotova, dm is Deputy. president of the National Association for Health Policy and Management. 

He is a member of: the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health; the General Assembly of MU – Sofia; the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Public Health “Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD” at MU – Sofia and the State Examination Commission for the acquisition of the specialty “Healthcare Economics”.

He is the Chairman of the Commission for Control over the Quality of Education at the Faculty of Health Sciences "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD" at the Medical University - Sofia and a member of the Commission for Quality Assurance of the Activities of the NEAA.
