Prof. Dr. Tatyana Benisheva-Dimitrova, MD

Biography:

Prof. Dr. Tatyana Benisheva-Dimitrova, MD, is a physician, professor at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University - Sofia, Bulgaria. 

An EU-CADREAC scholarship enabled him to complete a Master's degree in Drug Regulatory Affairs (2004/2005) at the University of Bonn (Germany), and later in 2010 he obtained a Master's degree in Public Health at the Medical University of Sofia, Bulgaria.

Professor Tatyana Benisheva, MD, in the Department of Health Management and Health Economics at the Faculty of Public Health at MU. She started her activity in 2006, and in 2012 she was elected Deputy Dean. She teaches medical students, as well as in master's and bachelor's programs in a number of specialties related to health management, drugs, medical devices and cosmetic products at the Faculty of Public Health at MU-Sofia. 

Prof. Benisheva's teaching covers the entire life cycle of drugs, in the field of drug regulations, marketing authorization regimes, clinical trials, drug safety, drug prices and reimbursement. in public health, as well as a number of financial indicators for public reporting of public spending on drugs. She is the supervisor of 9 doctoral students, of which 6 have already obtained a doctoral degree.

She is the first chairwoman of the "Council on Prices and Reimbursement of Medicines" at the Council of Ministers and was director of the Ministry of Health of the "Drug Policy" Directorate and a full-time advisor to the Health Committee of the 38th National Assembly and has over 10 years of experience at the National Institute of Medicines (today BDA). 

He has participated in a number of projects, including in recent years: 

Project "P"developing proposals to improve citizen participation in the pricing and reimbursement processes of medicines, formation and reporting of public/budgetary funds for healthcare in the field of medicines”, with the financial support of the Operational Program "Good Governance", co-financed by the EU through the ESF. 2019-2021.

Operational Program "Administrative Capacity" (OPAC) The National Council for Pricing and Reimbursement of Medicinal Products is a beneficiary of the project, implemented with the financial support of the Operational Program "Administrative Capacity" 2007-2013, co-financed by the EU through the European Social Fund, under priority axis III "Quality administrative service and development of e-government" and in implementation of contract 13-31-13/11.04.2014.

Her over 25 years of experience in the field of medicinal regulatory regulations (lifecycle management and market access of medicinal products) is complemented by over 150 publications, 3 monographs, which have over 100 citations in the field of regulatory science for medicinal products.
