Chief Asst. Miroslava Juglarska, PhD

Biography

Miroslava Dzhuglarska graduated with a Master's degree in Financial Control from the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics in the city of Svishtov. In 2020, she obtained a specialty in Healthcare Economics at the Medical University in Sofia, and is currently specializing in Medical Informatics and Health Management. After defending a dissertation on the topic Assessment of Control over the Implementation of Contracts for the Provision of Primary Outpatient Medical Care in 2021 she obtained an educational and scientific degree Doctor in the scientific specialty of Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy.

With professional experience as an auditor gained at the Agency for State Internal Financial Control - Territorial Directorate, Ruse (2002-2003) and the National Audit Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, Sofia (2004-2017).

In 2017, she was appointed, after a competition, as an assistant professor at the Department of Health Economics at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University in Sofia, and in 2022 as a chief assistant professor. She conducts semester exercises for students from bachelor's programs "Public Health and Health Management", "Health Care Management" and "Nursing" in the disciplines: "Microeconomics", "Macroeconomics", "Health Economics", "Financial Management in Health Care", "Public Finance", " Healthcare Financing Models", "Accounting and Control", "Informatics". 

She is a participant in two research projects on the topic Guidelines for improving the control over the implementation of contracts for the provision of primary outpatient medical care and Analysis and assessment of the quality of hybrid training conducted in the Department of Health Economics from the "Grant 2022" competition, as well as in the National Program "Young Scientists and Postdoctoral Fellows - Second Stage 2024/2025", Module "Postdoctoral Fellows" at the Medical University - Sofia. 

Publications and scientific interests

Author and co-author of 28 scientific publications in Bulgarian and international journals. She has interests in the fields of health economics, public health, models of financing of health systems, financial management, reporting and control in health.
