Assoc. Prof. Emilia Naseva, MD

Biography:

Emilia Naseva was born in Sofia. She graduated from the University of National and World Economy with a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Sociology, and from the Medical University of Sofia with a Master's degree in Public Health and Health Management. She has two majors – Medical Informatics and Health Management (2008) and Health Economics (2013). In 2013, she defended her dissertation for the educational and scientific degree of "Doctor" at the Medical University of Sofia. 

She worked as a sociologist in the Health Promotion Department at the Sofia Regional Health Institute and in the Ministry of Health programs "Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS", "Improving Tuberculosis Control in Bulgaria" and "Strengthening the National Tuberculosis Program". 

In 2009, after a competition, she was appointed as an assistant professor at MU-Sofia, successively holding the positions of chief assistant professor and associate professor. She teaches in the disciplines of Biostatistics, Sociology, Fundamentals of Scientific Research, Information and Communication Technologies, Informatics in Healthcare, etc. 

She has participated in five scientific projects funded by the Medical Research Council and has been employed as a consultant in three others. She has participated in several international projects on HIV prevention, vaccine prevention and tobacco prevention. She was the coordinator of a project to establish an immunization registry, funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.

He is a reviewer in a number of international journals with an impact factor and impact rank (ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1282-8441).

Emilia Naseva is a member of the National Association for Health Policy and Management; the Bulgarian Scientific Society for Public Health; the Bulgarian League for Hypertension; the Bulgarian Sociological Association; the Bulgarian Section of the Balkan Medical Union and the European Public Health Association.
