Assoc. Prof. Dorothea Shtereva-Tzuni, MD

Biography:

Associate Professor Dorothea Shtereva-Tzuni, MD, graduated from secondary education at the 119th Secondary School in Sofia and graduated from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia, as a Master of Economics, majoring in "Accounting and Control". For a significant period of time, she practiced her specialty in the financial department of the National Center for Hygiene (National Center for Hygiene). Since 2006, she has a master's degree in Public Health and Health Management at the Medical University - Sofia, FOH "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD", and in 2011 she acquired a specialty in "Healthcare Economics", MU - Sofia.

From 2007 to the present, she has been successively a doctoral student, assistant and associate professor at the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, DMN", MU-Sofia. Associate Professor Dorothea Shtereva-Tzuni, DM is defending her dissertation on the topic: "Modern aspects of the financing of hospital institutions in the Republic of Bulgaria". She participates in Bulgarian and international projects, is the supervisor of many successfully defended graduate students and is a reviewer of a number of master's theses. She supervises 4 full-time and 1 part-time doctoral students, two of whom successfully defended the ONS "Doctor".

Publications and scientific interests:

Associate Professor Dorothea Shtereva-Tzuni, MD has a total number of scientific papers over 70, a significant part of which are in international publications, indexed and refereed or with an impact factor. Published two monographs and participation in three collective textbooks. Has over 130 citations in Bulgarian and international publications.

Membership in organizations:

Associate Professor Dorothea Shtereva-Tzuni, MD is a member of the jury at the International Biomedical Congress (IBCS-2023), and in the period 2016-2019 she participated in the preparation of opinions in the working committees on OHT at the Ministry of Health. She is a member of the National Association for Health Policy and Management, the Bulgarian Scientific Society for Public Health, the European Health Management Association (ЕHMA), and the European Public Health Association (EUPHA).
