Asst. Prof. Elena Manolova

Biography:

Assistant Professor Elena Manolova obtained her Master's degree in Law at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. During her studies she participated in numerous international student exchange programs, improving her qualifications in the field of Private International Law, EU Law, Bioethics and Biolaw, Administrative and Civil Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Mannheim, Germany, as well as at the Faculty of Law of the Rhineland Friedrich-Wilhelm University in Bonn, Germany. 

Registered mediator at the Unified Register of Mediators in Bulgaria. Legal advisor and consultant on numerous projects related to mediation and alternative dispute resolution, including projects including the projects Legal Balancer - Online Access to Justice, Children in Focus in the Judicial Reform, etc. As of 2021 she is a practicing lawyer, registered with the Sofia Bar Association (SBA) with acquired specializations in the field of Family and Inheritance Law, Administrative and Labour Law, as well as in Medical Law. 

Since 2022 she has been an assistant professor at the Department of Bioethics at the Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD MU-Sofia. She is involved in a number of national and international projects.

Publications and scientific interests:

Research interests in Health Law, Bioethics and Biolaw. Focuses her scientific activity in topics related to the resolution of health-ethical problems in the health care system, dedicating her work to the role of mediation and its application in various spheres of public life, including its function in conflict resolution in the health care system.

Membership in organizations:

She is a regular member of numerous organizations including the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health, the Institute of Mediation and Dispute Management, the Center for Out-of-Court Resolution of Family Conflicts, etc.
