Chief Asst. Prof. Ani Miteva, Doctor of Law

Biography

Ani Miteva was born in Sofia in 1986. She graduated from the Faculty of Law of Sofia University - Sofia in 2011. In 2013-2014 she specialized in International Tax Law at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. 

Her teaching experience began in 2015 when she held the position of Assistant Professor at the Medical University of Sofia, Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, Ds". She currently holds the academic position of "Chief Assistant" at the Department of "Bioethics". 

In 2018 she obtained the educational and scientific degree of Doctor of Law (Financial Law) at Sofia University - Sofia with the topic of her dissertation "Discrimination in International Tax Law". She has been teaching a course on financial and tax law at the Academy of the Ministry of Interior in 2018. Since 2019 she holds the position of Chief Assistant Professor at the Department of Administrative Law Sciences at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University. 

She is Head of the Tax Law Clinic at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University and member of its Faculty Council; Scientific Secretary and Secretary for Liaison with the Student and Professional Organizations and Alumni Clubs of the Faculty of Law of Sofia University. 

As of 2025, she is a disciplinary judge at the Sofia Bar Association; member of the Bar Association (attorney at law) since 2019 and delegate to the General Assembly of Lawyers in the country. 

Publications and scientific interests

She is the author of a monographic work and over 20 scientific publications in Bulgarian and international journals on issues of public health and financial law, cited in Bulgarian and foreign publications. 

She speaks English and French.

Membership in organizations

Ani Miteva is a member of the Research Ethics Committee at the Medical University - Sofia since 2016; member of the National Association for Health Policy and Management; International Network UNESCO Chair in Bioethics; International Fiscal Organization, etc.
