At the end of 2018, the European Commission announced 335 competitive sessions for submitting project proposalsunder the Horizon 2020 Framework Program.
The announced competition sessions are part of the 2018-2020 work program of Horizon 2020, with preliminary expectations of through them to redistribute approximately 20 billion euros from the residual budget of the Framework Programme.
In the next six months most competition sessions will be opened under the third priority pillar "Social Challenges" of Horizon 2020. The total number of competitions that will be opened under this pillar is 224, as they will enable all Bulgarian research organizations, universities, small, medium and large enterprises to actively participate in the implementation of the goals of the European Research Area.
Within the second priority pillar "Industry Leading Technologies" more than 60 competitions are expected to be announced at Horizon 2020, with special attention being given to the opportunities provided by the "Instrument for small and medium-sized enterprises", as well as the opportunities provided within the directions "Nanotechnologies, advanced materials and advanced manufacturing", " Space' and 'Information and Communication Technologies'.
With regard to the pillar "Excellence in science", there will be opportunities to apply for both Future and Emerging Technologies and Marie Sklodowska-Curie activities and grants provided by the European Research Council.
They also deserve attention the announced 17 competitions under the "EURATOM", as well as the opportunities provided from direction "Spreading excellence and widening participation" and Science with and for Society program.
Additional information about the possibilities for applying under the Framework Program can be obtained from the Ministry of Education and Science in its capacity as the National Coordinator of the Bulgarian participation in Horizon 2020.
