Biography:

Master of Public Health and Health Management. PhD student and assistant professor at the Department of Health Policy and Management, Faculty of Public Health, Medical University - Sofia. "PhD" in Medicine in the scientific specialty "Social Medicine and Organization of Health Care and Pharmacy". She defended her dissertation on "The marketing approach in the process of providing quality hospital services". Master of Business Administration with specialization in Health Management, UNWE. Acquired a specialty in "Medical Pedagogy", Medical University - Sofia, FPH. In 2013 acquired the scientific title of Associate Professor. Second specialty in "Health Economics ", MU - Sofia, FPH.

  • 2007-2009 - Assistant and Senior Assistant at the Department of Health Policy and Management, MU - Sofia.
  • 2009-2016 - Principal Assistant and Associate Professor at the Department of Medical Pedagogy, Medical Education, Medical University - Sofia.
  • 2016-2019 - Associate Professor at the Department of Health Technology Assessment, PHE, MU - Sofia.
  • Since July 2019 - Associate Professor at the Department of Health Care, FPH, MU - Sofia.

 Participant in research teams in the development of three international and four national projects:

  1. Project funded by the European Commission under the Leonardo da Vinci programme - training of trainers on domestic violence (HEVI 2008 - 2010), coordinated by the University of Helsinki, Finland, No. 2008-1-FI1-LEO05-00457.
  2. EC funded project coordinated by Azienda Ulss20 Di Verona (Italy), EC Grant Agreement No. 2006123, PHASE - Public Health Action for a Safer Europe.
  3. Participation in the World Health Organization funded project "Reorienting Strategies, Programmes and Activities op MDG 4 And 5 Towards Greater Health Equity, with an Explicit but Not Exclusive Focus on the Roma Population", 2012-2013.  
  4. Project "Reporting of Adverse Drug Reactions among Medical Professionals", Contract No. 53 project 26/2012, competition "GRANT - 2012", funded by CMS, MU - Sofia.
  5. Project "Analysis of the system for safety of medicinal products and reporting of adverse drug reactions by patients", Contract No. 74 project 82/2013, competition "GRANT - 2013", funded by CMS, MU - Sofia.
  6. Principal Investigator in the Project "Pilot data collection and initial experience for the implementation of the European Trauma Database in Bulgaria", Contract № D-95/03.05.2018, competition "Grant - 2018", funded by CMS, MU-Sofia.
  7. Principal Investigator in the Project "Study of motivation among high school students and students of the specialty "Nursing" for choosing and working in the nursing profession", Contract № D-150/29.05.2024, competition "Grant - 2024", funded by CMS, MU-Sofia.

Participation in short-term courses and trainings abroad (Netherlands, Austria, Germany, Greece, Great Britain, Portugal, Spain, USA, New Zealand, etc.).

Publications and scientific interests:

Author of over 100 publications, over 80 citations.

  • Marketing of medical institutions and quality of hospital services. 
  • Health policy and management. 
  • Medicines policy and medicines information
  • Medicines safety and adverse drug reaction reporting.
  • Violence prevention and pedagogical approaches to address it
  • Training and education
  • Traumatism

Membership in organizations:

Member of the National Association for Health Policy and Management (NAHPM) - since 2008. Member of the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria - since 2015. Member of The European Public Health Association.
