Chief Asst. Prof. Boryana Traicheva Simeonova, PhD

Biography:

Chief Assistant Boryana Traycheva Simeonova completed her secondary education at the “Simeon the Great” Secondary School - Vidin. In 1997, she acquired the specialty "Midwife" at the "Y. Filaretova" Medical Institute in Sofia. She works as a midwife at the Home for medical and social care for children in Vidin and at the Gynecological Clinic of the Fifth Hospital EAD - Sofia.

In 2000, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, and in 2010, she obtained a Master's degree in the same specialty at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University - Sofia. After a competition in 2011, she was appointed as a practical teacher at the Department of Health Care at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University - Sofia.

In 2016, he defended his dissertation on the topic "Social and Health Aspects of Cervical Cancer Prevention" and obtained the educational scientific degree "Doctor" in "Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy". Since 2019, he has been a Chief Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Care. In 2020, he obtained the specialty "Public Health Services".

She is involved in numerous advanced training courses, as well as university and national projects.

Publications and scientific interests:

The main professional and scientific interests of Chief Assistant Boryana Traycheva Simeonova are focused on the field of midwifery training and healthcare provision in obstetrics, gynecology and neonatology.

Boryana Traicheva has over 40 publications, over 90 citations, and numerous participations in national and international scientific forums in the field of healthcare and university education of midwives. She is the author of a textbook and a monograph, as well as a co-author of a textbook supporting the education of students in the specialty "Midwifery".

Chief Assistant Traicheva is a member of the Bulgarian Scientific Society for Public Health (BSPH) and the Scientific Society for Medical Education (BSME).
