Chief Asst. Prof. Tania Veselinova Angelova, PhD

Biography:

Chief Assistant Tanya Veselinova Angelova completed her secondary education at the "Vasil Levski" Secondary High School - Elin Pelin. In 1998, she obtained the educational and qualification degree "Specialist" in the specialty "Midwife" at the Medical College of the Medical University - Sofia. She works as a midwife in the Gynecological Clinic of the Fifth Multiprofile Hospital for Active Treatment JSC - Sofia and the Delivery Room of the Maternity Hospital (Specialized Hospital for Active Treatment in Obstetrics and Gynecology) "Maychin Dom" - Sofia.

In 2002, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management, and in 2014, she obtained a Master's degree in the same specialty at the Medical University - Sofia. After a competition, she was appointed as a lecturer at the Department of Healthcare Management at the Faculty of Public Health of the Medical University - Sofia. Since 2018, she has been an assistant professor, and since 2020, a chief assistant professor at the Department of Health Care. In 2018, she successfully defended her dissertation on the topic "Medical and Social Aspects of Prenatal Care" and obtained the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" (PhD) in "Social Medicine and Organization of Health Care and Pharmacy". She obtained the specialty "Public Health". She is included in numerous courses for improving qualifications, as well as in university and national projects. She actively participates in teaching and student mobility under the “Erasmus+” program.

Publications and scientific interests:

The main professional and scientific interests of Chief Assistant Professor Tanya Veselinova Angelova are focused on the field of midwifery training and healthcare provision in obstetrics and gynecology. Tanya Angelova has over 40 publications, over 100 citations, as well as numerous participations in national and international scientific forums in the field of healthcare and university education of midwives. She is the author of a monograph, as well as co-author of a textbook supporting the education of students in the specialty "Midwifery".

Chief Assistant Professor Angelova is a member of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals (BAHP), Bulgarian Scientific Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (BSSOG), “Midwives” Section, Scientific Society of Medical Education (SSME), Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health (BSSPH).
