Assoc. Prof. Lidiya Hristova, MD, PhD

Biography:

Associate Professor Lidiya Hristova, MD, PhD acquired the educational and qualification degree "Master" in the specialty "Medicine" from the Medical University - Varna. She successfully defended the scientific specialty Doctor in Hygiene (occupational, communal, school radiation, etc.) on the topic "Creating a unified methodology for studying the health of workers at high occupational risk" at the Medical University (MU) - Sofia. She has acquired a specialty in Occupational Medicine and a master's degree in Health Management. With over 20 years of practical experience in risk management and healthy and safe working conditions. 

Head of a scientific project "Management of the health risk of developing musculoskeletal diseases in modern forms of work", funded by the competition "GRANT-2022" of MU-Sofia. She has participated in national and international projects on the topics: "Development of manuals for adapting workplaces and activities to the specific needs and capabilities of people with chronic diseases (hypertension, diabetes and COPD)" and EPSILON, as an expert in the development of manuals for the prevention of occupational and work-related diseases in workers in various economic sectors.

Publications and scientific interests:

She has published over 90 scientific articles in Bulgarian and foreign publications. She has participated in more than 50 national and international forums in the field of occupational medicine and public health. Cited in more than 40 national and international publications. Author of a manual on the topic "Occupational health problems related to physical factors of the work and environment" for students, graduates, specialists and doctoral students in occupational medicine and work capacity, co-author of 6 manuals and the manual "Hygiene. Medical ecology. Occupational medicine".

Participates in the organizational team of the International Medical Association Bulgaria, in the editorial team of Supplement IMAB and the journal "Occupational medicine and work ability".

Membership in organizations:

Member of the International Commission on Occupational Medicine (ICON), the Bulgarian Academic Society of Occupational Medicine (BADTM), the Association for Health Policy and Management in Bulgaria, the Bulgarian Medical Union, etc.
