Assoc. Dr. Elia Georgieva, MD

Biography

Dr. Elia Krasimirova Georgieva was born in Sofia. She graduated from the Medical University of Sofia with an overall grade of Excellent 5.63 and an average grade of Excellent 6.00 in the state exams.

After graduating, Dr. Elia Georgieva worked for several years in the field of mental health. Since 2004, she has been working in the Department of "Social Medicine" as an assistant and senior assistant, and since 2012 she has been a chief assistant in the department. In 2007, Dr. Elia Georgieva majored in "Social Medicine and Health Management". 

 Since 2025, he has been an associate professor in the Department of "Social and Preventive Medicine and Medicine of Disaster Situations" of the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD" at the Medical University - Sofia.

In 2010, he defended his dissertation on the topic "Research on elements of the quality of life of patients with cardiovascular diseases" and acquired the ONS "Doctor".

Dr. Elia Georgieva is fluent in English and has good knowledge of Italian and Russian.

Publications and research interests

Dr. Elia Georgieva's scientific interests are in the field of Social Medicine and Mental Health. She is the author of two independent monographs and 70 publications in scientific journals and collections. She has 78 citations in Bulgarian publications and 26 citations in journals referenced in world-renowned scientific databases.
