Chief Asst. Elina Petkova-Georgieva, MPH, PhD

Biography

In 2011, she obtained the “Master of Pharmacy” qualification at the Faculty of Pharmacy of MU-Sofia with an additional specialization in “Industrial Pharmacy”. In 2017, she obtained a specialty in “Organization and Economics of Distribution and Pharmacy Practice”, MU-Sofia. She defended her dissertation in 2018 on the topic “Risk Assessment in the Use of Food Supplements Containing Undeclared Ingredients”, MU-Plovdiv. In 2020, she graduated with a Master’s degree in “Public Health and Health Management”, MU-Plovdiv. 

Since 2022, after a competition, she has been appointed as an “assistant professor” at the Faculty of Public Health “Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, D.M.N.”, MU-Sofia, Department of “Health Policy and Management”. In 2025, she was appointed as a "chief assistant professor" in the Department of "Health Management and Health Economics". 

Publications and scientific interests:

She is an author and co-author of over 30 scientific publications in refereed and other scientific publications, textbooks, handbooks and information brochures. Participant in 4 national projects. 

Membership in organizations:

Member of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Scientific Society, the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health, the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Union and the Bulgarian Association for Drug Information (BADI).
