Assoc. Prof. Doroteya Shtereva-Tzouni, PhD

Biography:

Assoc. Prof. Doroteya Shtereva-Tzouni, PhD, graduated from the University of National and World Economy Sofia, as a Master of Economics, majoring in "Accounting and Control". For a significant period of time, she practiced her specialty in the financial department of the National Center for Hygiene (National Center for Hygiene). Since 2006, she has acquired a Master’s degree in Public Health and Health Management at the Medical University - Sofia, Faculty of Public Health „Prof. Tzecomir Vodenitcharov, MD, DSc“, and in 2011 she obtained a specialty in "Healthcare Economics", Medical University - Sofia. From 2007 to the present, she has been successively a doctoral student, assistant professor and associate professor at the Faculty of Public Health "„Prof. Tzecomir Vodenicharov, MD, DSc“, Medical University of Sofia.

In March 2012 she defended a dissertation on the topic: "Modern aspects of the financing of hospitals in the Republic of Bulgaria". Assoc.Prof. Doroteya Shtereva-Tzouni is a supervisor of many successfully defended graduates. She participates in Bulgarian and international projects. She has reviewed a number of master's theses. Assoc.Prof. Doroteya Shtereva-Tzouni is a supervisor of four full-time and one part-time doctoral students, two of whom вere successfully awarded the educational and scientific degree “Doctor”.

Publications and scientific interests:

Assoc.Prof. Doroteya Shtereva-Tzouni has over 70 scientific papers, a significant part of which are in international publications, indexed and refereed or has IF. She published two monographs and participated in three collective students’ textbooks. She has been cited in more than 130 publications, including international ones.

Membership in organizations:

Assoc.Prof. Doroteya Shtereva-Tzouni was member of the jury at the International Biomedical Congress (IBCS-2023). In the period 2016-2019 she participated in the preparation of statements in the working committees on Health technology assessment - Ministry of Health. Member of the National Association for Health Policy and Management, Bulgarian Scientific Society for Public Health, European Health Management Association (ЕHMA), The European Public Health Association (EUPHA).
