Assoc. Prof. Emilia Naseva, PhD

Biography:

Emilia Naseva was born in Sofia. She graduated from the UNWE with a Bachelor of Economics and Master of Sociology, and from the Medical University of Sofia with a Master of Public Health. She has two medical specialties, Medical Informatics and Health Management (2008) and Health Economics (2013). In 2013 she defended her dissertation for the PhD degree at the Medical University of Sofia. 

She has worked as a sociologist in the Health Promotion Department at the Sofia Regional Health Inspectorate and in the Ministry of Health programs for HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis prevention and control. 

In 2009, after a competition, she was appointed Assistant Professor at the Medical University of Sofia, successively holding the positions of Senior Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. She teaches Biostatistics, Sociology, Fundamentals of Scientific Research, Information and Communication Technologies, Informatics in Healthcare, etc. 

She participated in five research projects funded by the Medical Research Council and has been employed as a consultant in three others. She was involved in several international research projects on HIV prevention, vaccination, and smoking prevention. She was a coordinator of a research project on the development of an immunization register that was funded by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.

She is a peer reviewer for several scientific journals with an impact factor and impact rank (ORCID:ORCID: https://orcid.org/0000-0002-1282-8441).

Emilia Naseva is a member of the National Association for Health Policy and Management, the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health, the Bulgarian Hypertension League, the Bulgarian Sociological Association, the Bulgarian Section of the Balkan Medical Union, and the European Public Health Association.
