Associate Professor Anushka Nishan Dimitrova, dm

Born in the city of Sofia. Graduated from the Semi-Higher Medical Institute, Sofia, majoring in "nursing". In 2004, he acquired the educational and qualification degree "Bachelor" in Special Pedagogy, with the professional qualification "Educator and teacher in special schools", SU "St. Cl. Ohridski". In 2007, he acquired a specialty in Health Care Management, OCS "Bachelor" with the professional qualification "Health Care Manager and Medical Practice Teacher" from the Health Care Institute, MU-Sofia, and in 2009 - a "Master" degree in Health Care Management health care, with the professional qualification "Health Care Manager". In 2018, he defended the educational and scientific degree "Doctor" in Social Medicine and Organization of Healthcare and Pharmacy. Since 2011, he has specialized in Anesthesiology and intensive care. Participated in more than 100 qualification courses for SDO. Defends a dissertation on the topic "Quality of health care for burn patients".

In 1978, she started working as a nurse in the vascular surgery of the Third City Hospital. From 1980 to 2015, she worked at "N.I. Pirogov" UMBALSM, as: intensive care nurse in the Central Intensive Care Unit; anesthesiology nurse at OAIL at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Clinic; senior nurse in intensive care for children and adults with burns. From 2008 to 2015, she was the Head Nurse of the hospital. Since 2015, he has been a lecturer in practice at the Department of Health Care of the Faculty of Health, MU - Sofia. From 2018 he held the position of Assistant, 2019 Chief Assistant, from 2021 Associate Professor at the department. Participates in national research projects and an international educational project: Creation of a simulation laboratory for intravenous therapy - "GRANT 2017"; Personnel mobility for the purpose of training under the EU ERASMUS program + International communication and promotion: "local to global" as outline in the agreed Mobility Agreement for Training; Awareness and training of nurses and nursing students regarding aggression and violence in health care - "GRANT 2018"; Health care in the treatment of burns - professional competence of health care specialists, Participation of health care specialists in the multidisciplinary approach in the prevention and treatment of burn injuries - promotion, prevention, efficiency and quality of care, Organization and management of intensive care in treatment of burns - the National Program "Young scientists and postdoctoral students" in the period 2019-2021.

He is a member of the Scientific Society of Medical Education, the Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health and the Bulgarian Association of Health Professionals. Chairman of the Regional College - Sofia in the period 2005-2009, then deputy chairman.                                                          

He has published two monographs "Management of Burn Care" (2019) and "Organization and Management of Intensive Care" (2020). Author and co-author of over 110 publications in Bulgarian and international scientific journals and collections. Participated in national and international scientific forums with over 90 reports. He holds two professional qualification certificates. Awarded with more than 15 awards and distinctions for outstanding professional qualities, for contribution to the development and consolidation of "N.I. Pirogov" UMBALSM, first place at the regional and national level in competitions "Professional of the Year", honorary diploma for professionalism and contribution to the humanitarian activities for the benefit of the society by the BRC.
