Assoc. Prof. Antoaneta Zografova Terzieva, PhD

Biography:

Assoc. Prof. Antoaneta Terzieva is a lecturer at Medical University – Sofia, Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Tzecomir Vodenitcharov, MD, DSc", Department of Healthcare.

 In 1990, she graduated from the Higher Medical Institute (HMI) – Sofia with a specialization in Nursing and worked at University Hospital "Alexandrovska" until 1995. She then became a lecturer at Medical College "Y. Filaretova", and since 2007, she has been teaching at the Faculty of Public Health – Sofia.

In 1999, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" in Pedagogy of Children with Neurosomatic Diseases, followed by a Master’s degree in Special Pedagogy in 2001. 

In 2009, she completed a second Master’s degree in Public Health and Health Management, and in 2012, she specialized in Medical Pedagogy at the Faculty of Public Health, Medical University – Sofia.  

She obtained her Ph.D. in 2014 and was appointed Associate Professor in 2015 at the Department of Health Care, Faculty of Public Health, Medical University – Sofia. 

In 2017, she obtained a third Master’s degree in Health Care Management, and in 2024, she earned a second specialization in Public Health. 

Assoc. Prof. Terzieva teaches undergraduate students in the Nursing and Physician Assistant programs and participates in several national scientific projects. 

Publications and scientific interests:

Her research focuses on several key areas, including healthcare needs assessment, training, and prevention of complications in specialized nursing care in surgery, infectious diseases, care for individuals with disabilities, methodological approaches to caring for children with developmental anomalies, innovative teaching strategies in university nursing and physician assistant education, and organizational and managerial challenges in healthcare teams.

In 2021, she contributed to an international monograph: "Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Comprehensive Support for Children with Developmental Disorders (Experience of Specialists from Russia and Bulgaria)", Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, "Transbaikal State University", "Center for Psychological, Pedagogical, Medical, and Social Assistance 'Dar' of the Transbaikal Region", Chita. 

She has presented at more than 30 international and national scientific forums, delivering research papers and posters. She is a member of scientific juries and examination committees and supervises undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students.

She is a member of the Bulgarian Association of Healthcare Professionals (BAPZG), the Bulgarian National Society for Public Health (BNDОZ), and the Scientific Society for Medical Education (NDMO).
