Assoc. Maria Ivanova Dimitrova, dm

Born in 1961 in Sofia. In 1983, he graduated in the specialty "nursing - general profile" at the Medical College - Sofia; in 1999, he acquired the educational and qualification degree "Bachelor" in the specialty "Health Care" in FOZ - Sofia; in 2002 at SU "St. Cl. Ohridski" acquired a master's degree, specialty - "Adult Education". In 2010, he graduated with a second master's degree, majoring in "Public Health and Health Management" at the Faculty of Public Health - Sofia, and in 2012 he acquired a major in "Medical Pedagogy". He holds the educational and scientific degree "doctor" since 2014, since 2015 - associate professor at the Faculty of Public Health, Sofia University.

Participation in projects: UNICEF project "Hospitals friends of babies"; participation in a working group to create a specialization and curriculum of the specialty "Breastfeeding, healthy and dietary nutrition consultant"; trained as a trainer in the Bulgarian-Swiss program for hospital hygiene; Bulgarian-Dutch project under the MATRA program - "Palliative care". Participates in three scientific research projects funded by the Medical University of Sofia under the GRANT program.

He is the scientific supervisor of 5 doctoral students, of whom three successfully defended and 25 master's graduates.

Assoc. M. Dimitrova teaches students with a bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in clinical health care.

The directions of scientific research are in the areas of: theoretical and practical foundations of nursing care; care needs and prevention of complications in special nursing care; innovative approaches in university nursing education; management and organizational problems in the activity of teams in the implementation of health care.

Prof. Dimitrova is a member of the Bulgarian Association of Health Care Professionals; Scientific Society of Medical Education; Bulgarian National Society of Public Health. Author and co-author of over 70 publications and one monograph. Member of the General Assembly of Medical University - Sofia.
