The Bulgarian Section of the International Bioethics Network, in cooperation with the World Medical Association, at the Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD", Medical University - Sofia, invites all students to participate in the celebration of this year's World Bioethics Day 2025 on the theme: "Respect for Cultural Diversity", which will be held on October 17, 2025.

World Bioethics Day is a global celebration of the Universal Declaration on Bioethics and Human Rights, adopted on October 19, 2005 by the UNESCO General Assembly.

Invitation to participate

Students from all majors at the University can participate with:

• Essay
• Art poster
• Science Poster/Poster
• Photo
• Short video (up to 1 minute)

Deadlines:

• The deadline for submitting written essays, artistic posters, scientific posters, photos or short videos (up to 1 min.) is until September 30, 2025.
• Poster session: October 17, 2025

Evaluation and awards

A committee of lecturers and members of the Bulgarian Section of Bioethics, Faculty of Public Health "Prof. Dr. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD" will determine the winners in the various categories. 

The prizes include:

• Cash prizes
• Certificates for the winners
